Which is where Proctor Bennett comes in.īennett, whose official title is “managing director for District Six of the Department of Social Contracts, Enforcement Division,” is a ferryman. The trilogy, which began with The Passage (2010) and continued with The Twelve (2012), is a remarkable achievement in post-apocalyptic horror fiction: terrifying, intensely emotional, and beautifully written. It’s a tough act to follow. It’s been seven years since Justin Cronin wrapped up the Passage trilogy with the spectacular The City of Mirrors.
